Kaia Preus is from Excelsior, Minnesota. She teaches creative writing and English in Minneapolis, and her first book, The War Requiem, is forthcoming from Essay Press. Kaia holds her MFA from the Jackson Center for Creative Writing at Hollins University in Roanoke, Virginia and is a 2019 Author Fellow at the Martha’s Vineyard Institute for Creative Writing. Her work has appeared in Pleiades, The Drum, The Briar Cliff Review, Barely South Review, and Watershed Review. She is currently at work on both a collection of essays and a novel.
